In light of a new Instagram video, Bailey Smith has been found to be using a white powder at a party, which was later confirmed to be an illicit drug.

The Bulldogs wingmen could be seen in the video snorting down a white powder at a nightclub, which was reportedly filmed not long after the 2021 AFL Grand Final, in which Smith’s Bulldogs lost to the Melbourne Demons.

Smith came out after the leaked video and said

“'I do not have an excuse for those behaviors, however the state of my mental health over that period post Grand Final dramatically deteriorated, and I spiraled out of control leading to poor decision making and actions at the time.

All of this resulted in the leave I took from football at the commencement of pre-season training late last year.”

Following this, the AFL banned Smith for breaking their anti-drug policy for two matches. Smith was already banned for two games due to headbutting Geelong’s Zach Tuohy, and will now have to wait until at least the 15th of July to feature in an AFL game, when the Bulldogs take on St. Kilda at Marvel Stadium.
